While visiting family in Denver last week, decided to take an overnight trip to the local high country to see if I could get some shots of fall foliage. Took a drive over Loveland Pass, then over to Leadville and Twin Lakes. Not peak foliage in most places, but did find some nice yellow patches, especially on the descent from A-Basin into Dillon, and on the eastern approach to Independence Pass.
I was going to try to take the Quenella Pass road on the return to Denver, but it was closed due to fire hazard. Nonetheless, it was beautiful weather, and a great drive through spectacular mountain scenery.
Below are some examples. I've added a few shots to my Instagram site and several to my portfolio. Enjoy!
